New dog friends!

You know I'm always excited to expand my circle of dog friends, so imagine how excited I was to learn that Mami's friend Tiffany has two little dogs of her own. The first one is Beau, and he's a Bichon Frise with a very bold and warm personality. He likes cheese (so do I!) and cookies (me too!) and likes making new friends.
Then there's Sera. She is a rescue dog (like me!) only she is kind of shy of new people. Mami said she looks just like me only bigger and a little furrier. Mami couldn't get very close to take a picture because Sera was afraid of her camera, so the photo is a little blurry, but imagine me only kind of enlarged, and you'll get the idea.
There was a kitty too but Mami didn't get the chance to take her picture. Anyway, hurrah for new friends!

A late Christmas

Hurrah! Good news all around. Papi got on his flight and is supposedly in some place called, I can't remember, Poo-land. I don't know. He hasn't written yet to tell us he's arrived but we think he's fine.
Today Mami and I took a trip up north to see the abuelita and the abuelos. We brought a calendar of photos of me to the abuelita and gave her kisses, and then spent the day at the abuelos house, opening gifts and eating lots of food and playing on Abuelo's computer. It was super fun. It was a long and sleepy drive home but now we're back and Lulu said she didn't miss us at all. Now it's time for t.v. and sleep.
Oh, and that photo of the snow shows why we couldn't go up on Christmas Day. Too much of it!

Post Christmas snooze

Papi went off in an airplane yesterday and I was very sad because suitcases are always bad news. Mami came back though, and then I spent all night growling and woofing from my bed to show her that I was on the job. She didn't seem all that happy to hear me though. She kept telling me to be quiet.
But now Papi's stuck somewhere called Chicago because his plane had some trouble and then he missed his flight to some other place called Europe. I'm not really sure what's happening except he's stuck. He's gonna keep trying to get a different plane but if they don't get him on a plane by Sunday, I think he's just gonna come home. Poor Papi.
Here's a picture of me with Tia Candace on Christmas Eve. She gave me some cool toys.

Christmas Eve

Hello all. We're here at home, because all the snow up north has made us cancel our annual Christmas visit to the abuelos. They have too much snow with more coming, so it wasn't safe to drive. Mami and Papi are sad, but they are making the best of it. We're hanging around by the Christmas tree and eating chips and making posole and people are coming by to visit. I miss my abuelitos but I like being home too. Hope you are all having a nice Christmas!

Snow and Christmas!

So what a weekend~ First Mami put up the Christmas tree, and it smells so good and looks so pretty! And then this morning, when I went outside, there was snow! Unfortunately it melted and then rained, but tonight it snowed again and now it's all icy. I don't even know what tomorrow is gonna be like but wow! Crazy times. It's going to be an exciting weather week.

Goodness!

It's been a long time since I posted but Mami started her new job so she's been too busy to help me very much. Tonight I am spending my time with this crazy new gift Mami bought me. It's a monkey ball! It's like a tennis ball only covered with a stuffed monkey and I've been throwing it around like crazy. I love it!
Hey, Tio Casey sent me a photo of the Christmas parade. Don't I look tough with the derby girls? I thought you'd like to see it!

Freaky

We were playing with the iBook photo thingy and came up with this one. Mami calls it "Twin Choodle and the All Seeing"

Parade!

So last night I was in the Christmas parade with Mami! I was the unofficial Roller Derby Choodle! I had on glow stick blue wings and a skull bandana and I was so cool! I walked in the parade along with Mami and all the skaters, and I was very brave, even when Santa's firetruck siren went off behind me, and we went by horses and llamas. I got pets from little kids all along the parade route while Mami handed out skull suckers. It was so much fun! But I was really really tired when I came home, and I went straight to bed.

A little blueish

I was all excited about Friday because my abuelos were supposed to come down for a late Thanksgiving, because Mami had to work on Thursday. But tonight Abuelo called to say he's sick and he and Abuela can't come. That means no big turkey dinner, no mashed potatoes and no snuggles! I am pretty bummed.
Instead I guess Mami and Papi are going to do some shopping and maybe go wine tasting or something, and we'll have turkey this weekend sometime, since they haven't taken it out of the freezer yet. So no visit and no party but maybe I'll still get some turkey.
Anyway, here's a photo of Mami and her friend Yoshi at work. Yoshi's Mami is Wendy, and she works at the paper. They all had to work today so Yoshi came to visit. He's cute, but not as cute as me!

Bone chlllers

These last few days have sure been bone chillers. It's not only cold, it's super wet, so it goes right through your fur and deep into the toes. I don't spend much time outside other than my morning constitutional. And then Mami has to wipe the dew off my fur before I climb into bed with Papi.
Lulu has been staying out of the office in the daytime and prefers the living room, because it's a little toastier. And it gets dark so early that we're always in pitch black before Mami comes home. But we're usually asleep so it doesn't matter.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving but Mami has to work, so we have to wait til Friday for turkey. I can't wait.

Keeping busy

This weekend we fit a lot of things in. First of all we took a really nice long walk on Saturday and explored a bunch of places that I hadn't seen in awhile. The leaves are thick all over right now so there were things to jump in and sniff and chew. It was really sunny but cold out, so I walked fast to stay warm.
On Sunday we stayed around the house most of the day and Mami put up Christmas lights on the front and side of the house. She had a new staple gun Papi bought her, so she got on her ladder and put a bunch of twinkly lights all over. It looks really pretty and Christmassy now.
Here is a video of me fighting invisible enemies on top of the guest bed. Mami has to put that sheet down to keep the cat fur off the comforter, because Lulu uses that as her favorite sleeping place. She takes up the whole bed!
Papi bought a new heater for the office. It is incredibly toasty. It makes me kinda sleepy whenever I go back there. It's going to be a nice warm winter.

Family visits

Mami went up to see the abuelita this weekend, and her Mami and Papi too. She didn't take me because I don't like to drive very much. Abuelita gets tinier each time Mami visits her but she was very happy for a visit. And the abuelos had a cake for Mami cause she got a new job at the same university where Papi works. It's very exciting. Mami got to visit the abuelos dog, Teddy. He was looking very nice because he just got brushed. Then he got in trouble for eating dirt. It sounded like a fun day. Meanwhile Papi and I stayed home and had a walk and then played in the yard. Whoopee!

Kitten sneezes

Lulu has a cold, and she sneezes quite a bit. She's been taking to sleeping on the arm of the couch all day, and whenever she wakes up she does three sneezes. It's quite dramatic. Mami said she doesn't have any other symptoms but a wheezy nose, so she figures that she'll be better in a few days, but it sure is noisy. Otherwise she's still running around scratching on baskets and jumping up on things, so I don't notice anything different. I just hope she doesn't sneeze on me!

A little sad

Yesterday was kind of sad. Abuela left early in the morning for the airport, and when Mami and Papi came back, well they were kind of boring compared to her. They didn't stuff me full of treats or carry me around. In fact, they went and took a long nap and I didn't even get to snuggle in the bed! It was totally unfair.
Lulu was feeling sad too. Mami gives her scratches but not as many, and she's always busy with something, so last night Lulu and I just sat on the couch together and took a nap because there was nothing else to do. I wish she'd come back.

Family!

For the past four days, my abuela from Albuquerque has been visiting and it's been so much fun! We have spent lots of time together visiting. She bought me a scarf with skulls on it that I don't like very much, but I only had to wear it for pictures.
Yesterday was even more exciting because my other abuelos came to visit and we had such a good time. There were so many snuggles to go around that I didn't know who to visit first.
Today I am sad because Abuela goes back home on the plane. I have to stay home, I cant go to the airport because I don't travel in the car very well. But I will give her lots of besitos before she goes home.

Papi and some salsa

Hey folks! My abuela is visiting from New Mexico so I've been really busy playing with her. She is here celebrating her 60th cumpleanos! Tomorrow we're taking her out to supper with some friends. It's gonna be fun. Well, I can't actually go to supper but maybe they'll bring me back a snack.
I'll show you guys some photos tomorrow, but right now, here's a video from Dia de Los Muertos of Papi dancing with my Tia Alison. Papa is a super good dancer. If you look really close you'll see me sitting in Tio Dennis' lap. There are a lot of other good friends in the movie too, like Tio Jon and Tia Isa, and Tia Lisa and Tia Jennifer. I've got lots of nice aunts and uncles. Try to spot them if you can! Ok, back to playing with Abuela!

More party pics

Just a few more pictures of me with some new and old friends. We had a great time Saturday night, and thank goodness for daylight savings time because whew, I was tired all day Sunday. Mami said I had bloodshot eyes! I had a choodle hangover.

Happy Halloween!

Hello everyone! It's Halloween, a great time of year, and we're gonna celebrate tonight by eating lots of candy! At least, that's my plan. As you can see, Lulu started early by trying to eat Mami's devil trident. She thought it was cinnamon, but it's only sequins.
Mami is a roller derby girl today at work for Halloween. Tomorrow is our big party, and she's gonna be something different, I can't remember what, but it's political or something. I don't pay attention to that sort of thing.
Anyway, be safe, don't feed chocolate to your dogs, and don't run over any hobgoblins. Cheers!

Fresh burst of sunshine

Well I didn't think it was possible, but yesterday was positively warm out! Mami opened all the windows and it was like 70 degrees and sunny most of the day. We still stayed inside cause we had lots and lots of chores to work on, but I stationed myself near one of the windows and Lulu did the same. It was so fresh and nice outside! And the leaves were drifting all around and everyone was out and about to bark at.
Sometimes Lulu and I get grumpy when its winter and we're all bunched up inside, as you can see from this old picture. So a nice break with some fresh air does us good.

Sweet slumbers

Mami and Papi have both felt run down lately, which means they go to sleep a lot earlier, and sometimes, I get to climb in with them! It's so nice and snuggly, especially now that the days are colder, and my little bed isn't as cosy as the big bed. And even if I don't get the whole night, I get up there every morning with Papi for a little morning nap. It's heaven!

Autumnal walkies

Mami got home before dark tonight so we took a little walk to look at all the trees in the neighborhood, because they are all turning pretty shades of red and yellow and orange. It was really nice out tonight and everybody was out walking around and enjoying the evening.
I had a lot of good leaf sniffing and exploring and some message leaving, but sometimes I'd run too far on the leash and Mami would get mad because her photos would come out blurry when I jerked on the line and made her fall over. I'm strong for a 6-pounder.
We even discovered a neat alley we had never explored before that let us see into other people's back gardens. It was so cool. I was a little scared because it was kinda overgrown but Mami said it was safe so I went ahead.
Now it's cold and I had my evening biscuit so it's time for a nap.

Another dog blog

Wow, Mami just showed me this dog blog that I've never seen before, and one of the dog's names is Emma! And another is a Chihuahua! It's really interesting. I think these dogs live in Tejas, where my choodle brothers and sisters live. You guys should check it out!

Ears

Sorry I haven't been blogging lately. I got another bout of yeastie ears, so every morning Mami has had to take time to put medicine in, which means she hasn't had time to help me blog. Sunday we finally got through the medication and so now I'm feeling a lot better and less itchy, and she has a teeny bit more time to help me out. So hurrah for ears!

Yikes!

So this weekend Mami and Papi took a shopping trip down south, and came back home with a new pair of shoes for Mami. Only these shoes are very scary and dangerous. Did you know there are shoes with WHEELS on them? Big fat wheels that make you fly around the floor really fast?
I was terrified. I have never seen such things before, and here Mami was, rolling back and forth on the living room floor. So I hid under the coffee table until she was done. I don't like them at all. I think wheels belong outside, where my tail can't get caught.

A cat walks into a bar...

It has gotten really cold here this week. Mami brought the lemon tree into the house to keep it warm, and she put away all the lawn furniture and covered the shed with a tarp to get ready for winter.
Last night it was so cold that when Mami got home from her roller derby fundaiser, she caught Lulu and I sleeping next to each other on the couch. I was embarrassed.
The best way to stay warm is to find a lap. Sometimes Papi lets me sit on him when he's reading things on-line, and then I get to hear him read me things like funny jokes, or watch little movies and things. It's really fun. And warm. Sometimes Lulu wants to share a lap too, but she has to wait her turn because I don't give up laps very easily.

Kisses

I just can't get enough kisses. Even when I'm not feeling really great or I'm tired from a long day, I find them irresistible. Especially Papi, because his beard is always full of tasty things, so I kiss him after dinner to enjoy whatever it is he's eaten. Last night it was plantains and black beans. Yum yum!
I try to kiss Mami too but she's very wiggly and it's hard to get her, but I'm good at attacking Papi. He never wins!

Lulu complains

So it's cold now. Very cold. And rainy. Always dripping all over the place. But Mami won't turn on the heat. She says it's not nearly that cold out, especially for those wearing fur pants (meaning me) so I just have to wait. Which means I have to get really snuggly when they're home, to stay warm, but that means shoving that little Emma pig off Mami's lap, and then there's a fight. It's not really worth it. She tried to take my nose off the other day but luckily my nose is very small and she missed. But it hurt my feelings all the same.
I wish they'd just turn on that heat!
