Singing for her supper

This is my friend Sophie, you may remember her from earlier posts. She is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, and she's very lovely. She's about a year younger than me but she's much bigger, and one of her biggest skills is singing. She has a very lovely singing voice, and she likes to sit down in the kitchen and show it off to her human companions. I don't know how to sing, although I'm a good squeaker. I can appreciate a dog with musical talents, it's pretty rare.

Football

A lot of my day is spent napping, but I have short bursts of energy that are best used by playing catch. Football is my number one favorite game, and when no one wants to throw it, I can hold it by the tag and flap it around while standing on the couch. Sometimes I also put it on the back of the couch and use it as a pillow.
Chipmunk is fun to throw and catch too, and he has a tail, and a really good squeaker. Also, he doesn't slide under the couch as easily.
Mami and Papi play catch with me all the time. It doesn't matter if they're in the kitchen or taking a bath or putting away laundry, they always have time to throw things for me. It's nice. The only one who doesn't like it is Lulu, cause sometimes she gets smacked by a flying chipmunk if she's in the wrong place at the wrong time. But that's her problem.

Bonjour!

'Allo one and all! This is Lulu speaking. I've had a very busy weekend. With all the windows open letting in the spring breezes, I've been going from window to window, checking out all the important smells. I also guarded Mami when she was out in the yard digging up weeds.
Emma has been especially devilish this weekend, so much so that I finally had to put a stop to it. She was trying to bite my tail and herd me around, so I lost my temper. I marched over to Emma and slapped her across the face.
She was very surprised, and so were Mami and Papi, who were sitting there and watched the whole thing. But since I kept my claws in, and didn't do any harm, they didn't get mad. In fact, Mami said if I did that a little more often, Emma would behave better. But it takes a lot to get me mad enough to slap. It did buy me a few hours peace, though.
Oh, in case you're interested, I have a new Web site you can visit. It's my Catster site. You should make pages for your cats and they can be my friends! www.catster.com/cats/523729

Crossing to the other side

I have the grave and sad duty to report that my dear friend Lucha, the elegant and brave, went to the next world on Friday, after a long battle with illness. Lucha was just short of 19-years-old, and spent her final days in the close companionship of her human family. While she lived far beyond the life of many good cats, it is no less sorrowful to know that she has departed. Lulu and I are sending out our warmest love to Lucha's padres. Nos vemos, amiga mia.

Miss Catters

Today I want to introduce my friend, Catters. She lives in the Bay Area with her brother, Cat Smacky, and my Tia Jennifer. Catters is a very elegant cat, but she also bears a striking resemblance to Christopher Walken, or so her mami says. Here, Catters is portraying Walken in "The Deer Hunter," as you can see by her headband. I am always impressed with actors of Catters' caliber, and I only wish that I resembled a famous person. I can't think of anyone I look like, though, although sometimes Papi says I look like an old man with a beard. But that's not the same as being a celebrity double.

New cousin!

We just learned today that I have a new cousin! Her name is Moss, and she was adopted by my Tia Chelsea and my Tio David. She is my cousin PD's little sister. Here is the photo they sent in the announcement. She looks like a very nice puppy, but kinda big, so I'm not sure if I'll get to play with her or not. Big puppies can be kinda rough, especially when you only weigh 7 pounds.

Time out

Heya! Mami has the day off and I'm so excited, because we get to hang out together today. She and Papi left to go get breakfast burritos but now she's back, and we've got big plans. I get to help with the laundry, and sweeping, and maybe if the rain stops, we can pull weeds! Oh, I'm very excited!
Check out this psychadelic choodle picture they took of me. Grooovy.

Papi's Birthday

Hurrah! Today is Papi's birthday. I got to wake him up with many birthday kisses. I tried to sing "Las Mananitas" but I couldn't remember the words, so I just hummed a little.
Papi doesn't like his birthday very much, he doesn't want us to make him a fancy fiesta or anything, so I just give him kisses instead. Maybe tonight I can give him some more when he comes home from work. Or I can help Mami make him some chicken. I can test it and see if it's tasty enough.

Easter bunny friends

Here's my cousin Teddy during Easter dinner yesterday. I didn't go up to his house because he kind of mistakes me for a squirrel sometimes, and tries to eat me. But Mami and Papi went to see him and Mami's padres, and they took this picture. Teddy is very friendly to people-type persons, but not so much to fur people. He's a little bit grumpy. But he's very handsome.

My godparents

Today I want to introduce my godparents, Jake and Mary Ann. They have been in my life since I was a very tiny puppy. I was baptized by Padre Lucas at the church when I was a baby, so Mami said I should probably have a set of godparents like she did when she was little. She picked Mary Ann because she's Catholic too, and Jake because he's cool, and he is Mary Ann's novio. Also he likes to wrestle with me. Now they have a puppy of their own, named Sophie. She is much bigger than me, even though she's so much younger.

Feliz Cumpleanos, Tia Chelsea!

I am continuing my series of introductions to some of my bestest friends. Today is my Tia Chelsea's birthday, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to reintroduce her to everyone. As you may know, I was part of her wedding a couple of weeks ago. She is one of my favorite people, because she lets me kiss her whenever I want, and also I like to chew on her long hair. When I was a puppy I would tangle myself up in it. Sometimes I also sleep next to her when she comes to visit and it's soooo nice!
I hope she has a very nice cumpleanos!

Back again!

Hello! Sorry I've been away so long. Mami has been taking care of getting Grandma settled into her new place, so she hasn't had time to help me update my blog. On Sunday, Papi and Mami and I took a drive out to Grandma's new apartment, and I got to run all around. It is so big and nice, and has all her furniture in it, and photos of me, and it's really cool.
There's a big long hallway, and outside there are big trees and a creek. And just down from her lives this Lhasa Apso named Lacey. I haven't met her yet but Grandma said she's really nice.
So I thought this week I'd blog about people I really love, and show you their pictures. Today I will show you my Tia Theresa. She is very wonderful. She sometimes takes care of my sister Lulu when Mami and Papi go on trips. She gives me lots of love when I visit her at Mami's office. She always smells very nice, and has pretty clothes. Here she is having French pastries at the bakery with Mami this morning. I wish I could have gone there too. I love pastry.
